Since its founding in 1997, HoopStars has depended on committed donors and volunteers who are passionate about our mission: to build communities of support, acceptance, and opportunity for children, adults, and families living with developmental disabilities. We invite you to join us. There are many ways that you can help.

Make a Donation

Thanks to donors like you, hundreds of families living with intellectual disabilities, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, spina bifida, autism, or other developmental disabilities are realizing more opportunities for enriched living, and are receiving information and support to overcome hurdles faced daily by this community.
HoopStars depends on corporate and individual donations to continue to offer quality programs to the disabled community.  Some employers offer opportunities to donate to us through payroll deductions and corporate gift matching programs.  Many employers also will make contributions to charities for volunteer hours worked by their employees, and offer grants for charitable organizations.

We can also be designated as the charity of choice in contributions made to United Way via payroll deductions.  Contact your Human Resources or Payroll Department to activate your contributions.

Volunteer

HoopStars has made a significant impact in the lives of the developmentally disabled and their families thanks in large part to our dedicated volunteers.  We welcome volunteers in a variety of roles.   Put your coaching skills to work, enjoy the thrill of refereeing one of our games, or help out with scorekeeping and court assisting or other administrative functions.  You are guaranteed to leave our courts with a smile!  For more information about joining our world class team of volunteers, contact us at hoopstarsbb@att.net

Include HoopStars in Your Financial and Estate Plans

Thank you for taking the time to explore the ways your legacy can continue to help individuals and families living with developmental disabilities. Families who experience developmental disabilities have unique legal, social and financial concerns. HoopStars plays an important role in providing a safety net and being a source of support and increased opportunities for many families. By including HoopStars in your financial and estate plan, you can create profound benefits for present and future generations.

Thoughtfully done, planned giving can provide benefits to you, to your estate and your heirs, as well as to HoopStars and the people we serve – now and in the future.

Almost anyone can make a planned gift. If you share HoopStars’ mission and vision, we encourage you to speak with a tax advisor about what kind of plan would benefit our work and best fit your and your family’s needs. You might consider a charitable unitrust, a charitable annuity trust, a deferred gift annuity, among other options.

Your contribution of time, money and influence make an enormous difference in the lives of the developmentally disabled in our community.  Thank you!
